Itinerary:

 

Day 1 : Hochiminh city and arrival

  • Arrive at Tan San Nhat airport. Welcome by your local guide and driver.
  • Transfer to your hotel.
  • Overnight at your proposed hotel in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 2 :  Cu Chi tunnels – Ho Chi Minh city – Dinner on Sai Gon river (B/L/D)

  • Breakfast at the hotel. At 08.00am, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network of tunnels constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation, etc. and were used as a military base for the Vietcong during the American war.
  • Lunch at local restaurant.
  • Return to Ho Chi Minh city. Driven to China town, visit Binh Tay market. You can find many products such as textiles, electric, cosmetic, shoes, leather, germs … at this market. Then visit Thien Hau temple.
  • Enjoy dinner on Sai Gon Cruise.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – My Tho – Ben Tre  (B/L/_)

  • Breakfast at the hotel. At 08.00am, depart for My Tho. Take a boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses and the fruit plantation along the river bank. Visit the My Tho fishing village, floating fish farm.
  • Proceed to Tortoise island and have lunch in the orchard. Enjoy a boat ride through Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruising under the shadow of the water coconut trees. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Enjoy a rowing boat ride along the creeks, after trekking through the fruit plantation, village.

  • At 8.00 am, Leave Ho Chi Minh city for visiting Mekong Delta. On arrival in Hàm Luông Pier (Bến Tre town). Take a boat on Bến Tre river – one of tributaries of Mekong river, sight-seeing  lively activities along river as fishing, water transfering…Stop at brickwork to see how to make bricks in handy traditional style by printing and baking. Visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along canal. Turn on natural scissors creeks where they look smaller and smaller to go to village. Take a walk to family workshop making sleepmats and enjoying some fruits and tea.

  • Breakfast at your hotel. Our guide and driver welcome you at your hotel in Hoi An and then leave Hoi An Ancient Town for Quang Ngai Province. Along the way, you can see Chu Lai Combat Base on Highway 1. Arriving Quang Ngai you will start to visit My Lai Museum for learning about the war in this area in the past. You will reach to My Lai Massacre where you spend an hour there to see the complex of Massacre with Monument. The House of Evidence where documents, photos, and objects which testify to the massacre such as shirts, a pair of sandal of a killed child, all kinds of cups and plates, cookers and pans holed by cartridge, and wooden bells used for reciting prayers. You will have a deep impression of the part in Vietnam War. Have lunch at local restaurant.

Day 16: Ha Noi  – Mai Chau (B/L/_)

  • Breakfast at your hotel. At 8.00am, depart for Hoa Binh province and up then to Mai Chau valley. This scenic drive takes around four hours. One the way, visit Thay Pagoda and Tay Phuong Pagoda  or Sung Phuc Pagoda. Continue your trip to Mai Chau. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. Upon arriving in Mai Chau valley, we take a short walk around Lac & Poom Coong villages to have the first sights of the White Thai community culture. In the evening, assist to the traditional music and dance show which is performed by The Thai young girls and boys. They all come from this village. Try also some rice alcohol made of traditional plants and local sticky rice.

  • 05 : 00 am – Arrive to Laocai train station. Welcome by your local guide and driver. Picked up at Laocai Train Station to transfer to CanCau market. It takes more than 2 hours to get to CanCau – a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and o­nly 7 km from China. The market deeply shows the typical cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. Further more, you can enjoy seeing boys and girls in colorful costumes – different colors of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding “the other halves of their lifestyle” and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market. Say goodbye to the market and transfer to BacHa. o­n the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower H’mong and then check in hotel in BacHa. Free to explore the town.

Day 22: Visit Bacha market – Sapa ( B/L/D ) Sunday

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Take a walk to BacHa market. Visit o­ne village and an old building called The H’mong king’s house. Breakfast and the beginning of the day o­n which you visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colorful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy BacHa people’s simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches… talking to the minorities through the guide’s interpretation. Leave the market for the H’mong King’s house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch. In the afternoon, spend time visiting another village (BanPho village) Say good bye to BacHa and get back to Sapa. o­n the way back, drop in to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbour Mouth in LaoCai.

The market is the chance for the minorities to meet and share joy and sorrows after the crops, to exchange one another’s experience. Say goodbye to the market and get down onto a boat along Chay river. You are bound to feel great and find yourselves smaller among high rock mountains and to be surprised at white and breathtakingly waterfalls. The Fairy Cave is located deeply in the rocks. Get off the boat to visit a village of the Tay Minority (TrungDo village) by the river. After the boat trip, visit a small town – Bao Nhai.

Arrive in Ninh Binh province at 10.30am, then we visit Hoa Lu, an ancient capital of Vietnam from 968 AD to 1010 AD during the Dinh and early Le Dynasties.   • Short break for lunch at a restaurant near Tam Coc. After lunch, we take sampans to visit Tam Coc, which is literally known “ Three Caves” First Cave is the longest one which is considered a real rainbow in the water in the morning time stretching on both sides of the Ngo Dong River. The quiet movements of the oars create a sort of musical rhythm inside the cave. As the boat leaves the cave, you can see what seems to be an old man with a white breard fishing, fairy flying in the clouds, peasants collecting fuel and a group of white goats grazing on the hills. Then we move to the Second Cave and the Third Cave.

After leaving the busy city of Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon), turning off the National Highway 20 leads visitors to a mountainous area full of roadside plantations of rubber and green coffee. A short, smooth 150 km bus ride takes visitors to a former volcanic crater, known as Lava tubes. Crossing the Dong Nai River to enter the Cat Tien National Park enables visitors begin their wildlife experience.
  • Afternoon, we do a three hour trekking to through the Reserved Core Area. We will see many kinds of hundreds of years old trees. Then return to the center for dinner.   • We trek about 6 km along the stream, through the jungle and have to cross the stream a few times. The morning hiking will take about 3 hours, then transfer back to your hotel for changing clothes. Driving to Tuyen Lam Lake, take a sightseeing the beautiful scenery of Tuyen Lam Lake by  boat.   • Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Hue via Da Nang. On the way, visit the Marble mountain, the Cham museum and China Beach. Over Hai Van Pass – to enjoy the wonderful panorama from the top of the Pass. In the afternoon, Visit the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, and the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City.
  • Visit Dong Ba market and enjoy Bun Bo a special dish of local people before transferring to the airport for boarding the flight VN1544 to Ha Noi (21.15 – 22.25).
  • Pick up and transfer to your hotel.
  • Overnight at your proposed hotel in Ha Noi.

Day 12: Ha Noi city – Lao Cai (B/L/D)

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we enjoy a full day city tour of this charming capital city including the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh,the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the impressive Ethnologic Museum, the beautiful West Lake, the Tran Vu Pagoda, the peaceful lake of the Restored Sword. Late afternoon we take a cyclo tour for a short excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Enjoy a glass of “Bia Hoi – draught beer ” at Ta Hien Street before enjoying the traditional water puppet show.
  • Visit the night market and having dinner at Ngon restaurant
  • 20: 00 pm – Pick up and transfer to Hanoi railway station for boarding the Express Train to Laocai.
  • Overnight in an air-conditioned soft sleeper wooden cabin.

Day 13: Lao Cai – Coc Ly market – Sapa ( B/ L/ _) Tuesday

  • Meeting your local tour guide and driver upon arrival. Transfer to a local restaurant for having breakfast. Then visit CocLy market, which is situated far from Sapa. Enjoy the peaceful life of 6 different minority peoples (Flower H’mong, Black Dzao, Tay, Dzay, HaNhi and Nung). The market is the chance for the minorities to meet and share joy and sorrows after the crops, to exchange one another’s experience. Say goodbye to the market and get down onto a boat along Chay river. You are bound to feel great and find yourselves smaller among high rock mountains and to be surprised at white and breathtakingly waterfalls. The Fairy Cave is located deeply in the rocks. Get off the boat to visit a village of the Tay Minority (TrungDo village) by the river. After the boat trip, visit a small town – Bao Nhai.
  • Proceed to Sapa.
  • Dinner on guest’s account.
  • Overnight at your proposed hotel in Sapa (Standard room at Gecko hotel)

Day 14 : Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai –  Giang TaChai – Lao Cai (B/L/_)

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Trekking around 6 km to visit two villages of the Black H’mong (CatCat and SinChai). After lunch, visit the Red Dzao in GiangTaChai village, stopping off to see a picturesque waterfall and suspension bridge. Walk up to the road and take the jeep back to Sapa.
  • Transfer to Laocai train station for boarding the Express to Hanoi (20:15 – 5:00).
  • Dinner on guest’s account.
  • Overnight in an air-conditioned soft sleeper wooden cabin.

Day 15: return Hanoi – Halong (_/L/D)

  • Arrive to the train station around 05.00am. Pick up and transfer to a mini hotel  for taking rest.
  • At 8.00am, pick up at your hotel. Depart to Halong, enjoy the peaceful scenery as we travel through the countryside, farmlands and Red River delta.
  • 10H00: Stopover on the way for a refreshment break
  • 12h00: Arrive at Tuan Chau wharf – Break and photography time
  • 12h30: Board the Cruises for departure. Welcome drink will be served
  • 13h00: Lunch is served while cruising through the bay
  • 15h30: Visit exciting Cua Van fishing village. The village is free of busy roads and streets, electric lights, houses and high rise buildings. Instead, there are only herds of little boats and rafts. You will have the chance to discover the traditional culture and customs of the fishermen.
  • 16h30: Enjoy kayaking or swimming (if the weather permits).
  • 17h00: Back on board and continue cruising to Drum Cave (Hang Trong) to dock.
  • 19h00: Dinner is served.
  •  21h00: Take some leisure time to enjoy chatting at the bar or enjoy some night fishing.

Day 16: Halong – Hanoi & departure (B/L/_)

  • 07.00: Coffee and tea will be served
  • 08.00: Continue cruising
  • 08h15: Visit splendid Sung Sot Cave
  • 09h00: Check out and  enjoy a fantastic cruise on the bay, passing Dinh Huong Island, fishing villages, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island and Sail Island.
  • 09.30: Buffet brunch (breakfast/lunch) while cruising back through Halong Bay to the pier
  • 11h30: Arrive at the pier. Time to say goodbye to the crew.
  • 12.00: Return from Halong to Hanoi.
  • 14h00: Stop over in Dong Trieu town to visit a ceramics workshop.
  • 16.00: Arrive in Hanoi.
  • At 20.00, transfer to the airport.
